When I am not at my computer one of my other passions in life is to be outside, whether it’s planting with my boys, going on bushwalks and being at the beach. A small macadamia nut orchard of 50 trees line the bottom of our lifestyle block just outside of Kerikeri. Every year we harvest our little orchard in the middle of winter, we then send our nuts away to get dried and shelled. Oko Nuts is about teaching our boys about the land, not wasting a thing and giving them a good work ethic. Any money we get from selling our nuts goes into the drying and shelling process and will be put back into the land (and possible some pocket money for the boys!). If you would like to buy a bag of these delicious and nutritious morsels please visit the Oko Nuts Facebook Page.
